Dr. Maureen Cooper

Dr. Maureen Cooper is originally from Canada however she now proudly has dual citizenship with Australia. She obtained her veterinary degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Purdue University in Indiana, USA.
Dr Cooper then spent time in both general and referral practice in New York and later in Melbourne. She completed her residency in Veterinary Oncology and then became a Fellow in the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Oncology in 2010. She is a registered specialist in Veterinary Oncology.
Given the deep human-animal bond, Dr Cooper feels passionate about providing complete cancer care for families who elect to treat their pet’s cancer.
Dr Pete Laverty
BVSc, MACVSc. Diplomate. ACVS (Small Animal Surgery)
Peter graduated from Melbourne University with an honours degree in 1985. Since then he has achieved a formidable academic and practical record. After 10 years in general small animal practice in Melbourne, he pursued specialist surgical training in the United States. He completed a Small Animal Internship at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Dr Laverty went on to complete a Small Animal Surgical Residency at the Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Indiana. While at Purdue, Peter became an integral part of the team at the Centre for Paralysis Research, working on improving outcome in pets with spinal cord injury.
In 2002 Dr Laverty was awarded Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Peter has been active with undergraduate/ postgraduate training and is an active participant in further education as a key speaker at conferences and seminars. Peter has published numerous research papers, case reports and review articles. He brings an extensive range of specialist surgical experience, in particular in the field of oncology and reconstructive surgery, to the Melbourne Animal Cancer Care.
Dr. Jess Morey
Dr. Jess Morey completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne in 2013. After completing her veterinary degree, Jess worked in a small animal practice in Melbourne for three years before travelling to the UK to work in a general practice in Cambridge. Dr Morey recently completed her 1 year oncology internship with us.
Dr. Rosemary Soh
Taye has been working with us since April 2013. Prior to this she attended La Trobe University, studying Animal and Veterinary Biosciences. She has a thoroughbred horse called Jai and a Jack Russell called Molly at home. She loves spending her time being a mum and spending time with her family!
Kelly joined the macc team in July 2018. Kelly’s background is predominately in human nursing but she has always had a passion for veterinary nursing and care. At home she has 3 dogs, Roshe, Nala and Cleo and 2 cats, Pepsi & Mishka. In her spare time Kelly loves keeping active and plays soccer in her free time.
Kelly started at macc in November 2018. Prior to this Kelly was working as a vet nurse at a small animal clinic for 5 years. Kelly has completed her Degree in Veterinary Bioscience at LaTrobe University. Kelly enjoys snuggling on the couch and watching movies with Pixie her British Shorthair cat.
Bree joined the macc team in July 2019. Bree has experience working in the veterinary industry. At home she has two cats, Simba and Sadie, and a horse named Danny. In her spare time she enjoys going horse riding and spending time with friends and family.
